UNCONTAMINATED OSLO FASHION ART FESTIVAL 2016 was all about being challenged, provoked and pleasantly surprised. First and foremost was this the main aim of the arrangers, but it actually also ended up becoming my own personal experience.

Uncontaminated is a three days long celebration of fashion and art which recklessly seeks the most vibrant frequencies in its fields by gathering some of the most inspiring and groundbreaking people from the International scene in Oslo. Having seen the impressive first edition of their festival in 2015, it did feel quite nerve-racking when festival directors Rita Larsen and Hilde Reljin popped their question of me becoming Executive Editor for their second edition of Uncontaminated. When I recognized some of the names they mentioned from the festival line-up, like Bob Recine and Synchrodogs, I did however know that I was going to do it. That the two initiators had been based for many years in New York and Paris working with leading luxury brands and artists was also very fascinating.

When the Uncontaminated publication was ready, the directors also asked me to interview the artists during the festival days, and the first interview published here below is the conversation I had with the curator for the festival. As if we found ourselves in a movie scene, the Italian fashion expert wanted a double espresso when we welcomed him at our studio in Chambre Séparée on The Thief Hotel.

His name is Riccardo Ruini and is based in the almost ridiculously beautiful city Rome. He has a long history of working with luxury brands, and has helped building Designer Houses like Valentino, Gucci, Bulgari and Fendi with his visual skills and business sense. Apart from that he also works as Consulting Art Director for for Vogue Japan and for Ten Magazine.

monDieu already looks forward to Riccardo Ruini’s artist selection for this year’s festival.
